2017 Kimsey Vineyard Syrah

Love makes the world go round, and wine makes it a lot more fun...
Syrah is perhaps King here on the Central Coast, and ours is sourced from a favorite, new vineyard site in Ballard Canyon, Kimsey Vineyards. What makes Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast so incredible for Rhone Varieties is the unique East/West Mountain range that funnels cool ocean air inland. This, paired alongside a multitude of soil types, such as calcareous deposits, marine layer, sand and limestone, create an incredible environment for both cool and warm climate Syrah.
We believe the 2017 Kimsey Vineyard Summer Somewhere Syrah represents an ideal balance of the two styles maintaining rich, integrated tannins, dark red raspberry flavors, floral violet aromas with white peppercorn and hints of vanilla, oak, leather, tobacco, earth and spice. Its medium-to-full-bodied flavor advocates a composure of elegance, complexity, structure and tannin allowing for age-ability for years to come.
We recommend pairing it with BBQ, steaks and all things savory. This wine is structure and complex, so it will hold up against hearty meats and flavorful sauces.
